Look after the hood..... it used to be mine. I lived in Centenary Flats on 16th Ave and then in Wimbledon Terrace, we also lived in the Fire Station flats for a while! I watch Fair Spire Flats being built and we used to use the Gifford basketball courts in the evenings, some times we would climb the fence of the Gifford pool and swim there at night. There was a park on Angus road between 17th and Clyde... looks like it's gone now. Good memories.... all a long time ago now. You look after the hood Allan.

Thank you for the bird's view of foundation college situated at 84H.chitepo street.I am Message Ncube, the director of foundation college, and would like to inform you that the college now has grown exceedingly and has 8 colleges in both Harare and Bulawayo. We have since built two formal schools namely Premier High school at Pumula south and Eastview High school at Mahatshula suburb in Bulawayo. We are currently working on a web site for our institutions to enable former students like you to keep in touch with events at your former school. I hope you are doing well wherever you are and we would be happy to know where you are and your occupation

  • Makokoba(elokitshini), mthwakazi wrote 15 years ago:
Makhokhoba Township is Bulawayo's oldest and highest density urban habitation. The houses were designed to be small, unconfortable and a marker of what black people were expected to be happy with under the harsh colonial rule. This place is a clear trademark of the harshness and uncompromising stance of the colonial era. In reaction, the Makhokhoba population were inspired to give rise to nationalist black politicians who eventually extinguished colonial rule in Zimbabwe. This place is important in the history of Bulawayo and Zimbabwe at large
